For this blog here in sunny 2017, I'm catching up a lot of backlog stuff. So be prepared for some old references....

Still Not Inspired!

Yes, I know it's been a long time

(read: years)

Since I've posted anything here!

I'm not very proud of it.....

But, that isn't to mean I haven't been busy?!!!

I've just been busy not being crafty.

I did, however, get some new ink since I posted last!

And now my new adventure is to delve into the world

of heart healthy recipes.

My blood work came back yesterday showing a rise in

cholesterol and triglycerides 

so I did what I always do when I have to research something new...

I start a Pinterest Board about it!

So far, I've made Energy Ballz and Greek Yogurt Chicken Salad.

You know what?

(what?)

Not that bad!

It's been 9 days since my last Kit Kat.

(sounds like a confessional)

I should find a counter for that....

Food Making is soooooo not my forte. 

(this is probably why my numbers are high)

So, that's about it.

Life is good, my kids are healthy, and I love my job.

I can do this!

What happened to my Blog Pics?

Quick note here...
I've recently (yesterday) gotten a new toy.
A tablet.

i was playing around with said tablet today, you know we were getting to know each other,
when...

I removed the gallery app.

Little did I know that this might be the most headachy thing!

Now, on every device BUT the new tablet (including my computer), mcmaven haven pictures are gone!

I'll be taking lots of aspirin and trying to figure this out.

My apologies if you came here via Pinterest and found a big-fat-annoying-no-picture-post.

GRRRRR!

UPDATE:
Kind of "Good news, Bad news"...

Good News:
We were able to find the pictures!
The do, in fact, still exist. HOORAY!

Bad News:
It looks as if I need to reupload every picture in every single post.
Bah Humbug.

Drawing Challenge Day 1!

Day 1: Yourself

First off:

LOVING the Copic Markers!

They'll take some getting used to, not quite like

Sharpies (duh!) and I love the paintbrush tip.

Second off:

Critiquing my sketchy self portrait...

I kind of like the way I did the right side of my hair better.

But, I'm learning right?

Also, I think by playing around with shading...

I may've gone a bit crazy.

All in all, I'm quite happy with it.

I'm about to sit down for Day 2: Favorite Animal!

Thriftin Fun!

Another Funny Fun thing found at the thrift store!

FABRIC!

An unfortunate Ed Hardy feel to it, but the characters just cracked me up too much!

It's cotton and the background is a pale blue.

You KNOW this wizard cat is up to no good...

What the heck is this guy gonna do with Mr. Frog,

or has he already done it?

Sassy red wings on a little guy equals trouble!

I think I'm going to have a great deal of fun with this.

With over 1 yard of the stuff, it's going to be around for a while.

I know the first thing created is going to be some napkins!

Making muffins this morning I discovered something about a purchase I made last week.

This is what I believe to be a left handed spatula. I am right handed...

I have this belief due to the curve in the rubber being wonky to my scraping style.

Don't scoff, we all have one!

So, all you Ned Flandersrsss' they do exist.

 

I don't know if it's REALLY a south paw spat, I just like to think that someone over at Target maybe cares a little bit about everyone. It's a nice thought.

 

All this spatula drama perhaps is due to the first song Pandora chose for me today was R.E.M. "It's the End of the World as We Know It".

 

Should be an interesting day, I'll have to keep my guard up and my phasers on stun.
