Weeping Angel Amigurumi for Heather!

Hooked this little lady up for a special little lady's
birthday whose husband is super creeped out by all things Weeping Angel...

So a "win-win" in my book!

My friend, and fellow Coffee Hag Knit Nite attendee, Heather
had a birthday.

And a love of Amigurumi with an affection for Doctor Who.

As well as the unfortunate judgement to share with
me an anecdote of how her husband freaked over the Weeping Angels.

I'd found my gifty mission!

Super great and easy to follow pattern by Shirley MacDonald
over on Ravelry.

This particular Angel was very cooperative in posing for me.
She didn't squirm around and always stood still when asked.
What a delightful photo shoot subject she was.

Whovian Hidden Book of Mystery!

This is a "Secret Compartment" Book
I crafted up such a long time ago for
Grindhousehussy19 as an extra in the Frozen Swap.

I had been saving this Thrift Store Find of a book
for the perfect Whovian.
It even had a wonderful Tardis color to it!

So I went for the zen approach to cutting out the rectangle below
as it can get real tedious...real fast.

Little Tip:
If you take the thinnest bit and drill the 4 corners,
it makes for cleaner cutting.

Geez, looking at this pic, my straight edges are not so straight.
Oh well, Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey right?

I also slippped her some Whovian Bottlecap Magnets.
Dimensional Magic rules!

And a big Thank You to Shannon
who gave me some bottlecaps to craft up!

Allons-y!

Rory's Lunchbox!

Another Tribute to my favorite Centurion and yours...
RORY!
(I think this is the last one...thank you for your indulgence.)

In some webisodes, we got to see some Domestic Life of
Rory and Amy.
He's a tireless nurse and is so budget conscious he takes a lunch every day.
At least this is what I like to think!

I decided my swap partner needed her own lunchbox desperately and found at the Thrift Store
a perfect white plastic one demanding to be transformed.

I'm sorry I don't have a "before" picture here, but it was a pretty straightforward
white plastic lunchbox.

A lunchbox good enough for a hero

I painted a white base primer coat then went to town with some acrylic paint.

Then found some Roman Centurion images and Mod Podged like a maniac!

This was a neat project and I think it turned out pretty neat as I'd
never crafted anything quite like it before.

Now for some silliness...

I have a Rory Theory.
It's not new or blow-your-mind crazy.

I want Rory to be the next Master.
He has an issue actually dying (Time Lord).
He fathered River. (Time Lord)
(sure there was that whole concieved in the time vortex thing, but still)
The Master has been a real stinker and deserves to have a nice regeneration for once.

Call the theory what you will,
but a girl can dream can't she?

Shut UP, Hitler Hoopla

Rory Williams Pond...
Hitler Puncher and all around Centurion Step-Up Guy!

Shut Up, Hitler Hoopla

Oh did I enjoy doing research for this hoop I stitched
for Pioneer9 in a recent craftster Who Swap.

Just do a Google Image Search for "Punching Hitler in the face".
Go ahead, do it.
I promise you won't be sorry...
I giggled at this Google for a gaggle of time!

Closer up....
I attached the stitched fabric to an old plaid shirt of Will's:
as we all know Rory has a beautiful thing for plaid.

Here's the glorious scene that inspired me...

BAM! POW!
Rory's a superhero!

whovian art

I decided for a past Doctor Who Swap
to delve into the ATC (Artist Trading Card) pool.

While the following cards are just sketches and not multimedia,
which I can't wait to try,
I got a feeling of just how small of a size these things really are!

Did Real Life just get Started?

Field Doctor

Bouncin' Around the Cosmos

BAtC Close up

Madman with a Smirk
MwaS Eye Detail

Together or Not at All

For sending to my swap partner I thought I'd whip up a
simple River Diary out of a photo album from my stash!
Sharpies are my Besties!

Impromptu River Diary

So super soon we'll get a taste of the 12th Doctor.
I'm going to miss 11...miss him a lot.
I loved his "absent-minded professor-ness" and ability to look so lifeworn and childlike all in one big swirl of moppy hair.

I'm very happy to meet 12 and see what Peter Capaldi does with my Doctor...
Can't wait to go on another adventure!

Whovian Perler!

The kids and I were having a grand afternoon of Perler-Palooza, and while I was manning the iron I thought I'd whip these up quick for an "extra" in the recent Doctor Who craftster swap.

I didn't add anything to the back like a magnet or lapel pin, I thought I'd leave that decision up to the recipient.
I'm so in awe of some of those really huge detailed Perler creations out there...
I just felt crazy accomplished getting these ironed somewhat evenly!

'Couldn't just send them loose, so I took the sleeve my new Union Jack umbrella
came in (who really uses those things anyway?) and sent them in British Style.

I'm currently doing another Who Swap.
Send outs are on November 19th.
In case you didn't know....
It's the Doctor's 50th anniversary.

I'm SO excited!!!!

Ooooo Weeeee Oooooooo!

Rory, the last CENTurion!

For the recent Doctor Who Swap, my partner chose
my beloved Rory Williams
as one of her favorite Companions of the Doctor.

Rory...well the story might be too long to go into here,
but I think this shirt over at Sharksplode.com
sums it up nicely.
PS: The Rory story arc breaks my heart. (Moffat, you had me at... hello!)

I stamped on pennies for the first time.
Much more pliable than the washers I'd stamped before.

I also couldn't resist the cleverness to do a Rory set from
a bunch of 1 CENT pieces.

(hardy har har)

Doctor Who Painted Shoes!

Oh My Whovian Goodness, I painted a pair of shoes!

This pair was for my partner in the Doctor Who Swap: Round 9 on Craftster.
I've never done this before and it was really fun!
Kind of zen to use a brush and paint....
Ohm!

FiberAlchemist's (my swap partner) fave Doctors are 4, 7, 11, and 5.
I also LOVE these so I couldn't choose.
It was just killing me to even try, so I incorporated all of them.

As this was my first pair, I didn't feel comfortable enough to paint on the eyelets or tongue area.
(I'm sure there's some technical name, sheesh!)
I didn't get a picture, but I found some TARDIS Blue shoelaces to solve my dilemma.

Materials Used:
Walmart Special $5 White Sneakers
Acrylic Craft Paint
Grandparents to watch my kids
Krylon Sealant Spray
(which made the little touches of Sharpie Marker run in a few spots)

BIG THANKS goes out to chughes225 for letting me pick her brain.
She made some KILLER Harry Potter Shoes.
Here's the link to her project page....Harry Potter Shoes by chughes225 on craftster!!!

Pandorica Opens Scarf!

One of my obsessions is Doctor Who.
Another is Crafty Swaps on craftster.org
Yet another is knitting.

Here's what happily happened when these obsessions collided...

I don't think Van Gogh's masterpiece has been attempted in knit form so I had to give it a whirl.

The flames are knit with 2 strands of sock yarn in i-cord, then tacked on with a basic sewing thread.

I knitted this scarf for Strawberryh in the Surprise Swap on craftster and I didn't want it to go...
But we do what we must and need to as faithful Whovians.

The pattern is from The Spiral Staircase Scarf on Ravelry.com rav link and was superfun and quick to make. I'll definately be knitting more of these scarves (not necessarily Doctor-centric) up!!!
